Inventories are the result of recorded movements. A useful inventory compares the system data with the physical count and makes necessary adjustments understandable.
Loading, unloading and transfer movements
- Open the product and warehouse involved in the operation.
- Choose the expected movement, indicating quantity, date and recognizable reason.
- For a transfer, check both the source and destination depots.
- Confirm the authorized operation and re-read the movement and the resulting inventory.
Inventory and stock adjustments
- Open the planned inventory area and delimit the warehouse and products to be counted.
- Collect physical quantities by keeping items, lots and warehouses distinct.
- Compare count to recorded inventory and document differences before adjustment.
- Record only authorized changes and retain reference to the control carried out.
Putting this into practice
If a quantity does not match, check the warehouse, item and recent movements. The adjustment resolves the data after the check, but it is also useful to understand which process generated the difference.
