Equipment downtime: look at duration and context before totals

A total of hours of downtime helps identify a problem, but the context explains where to intervene. Connecting stop, car and activity allows you to separate different events and follow anniversaries.

Machine stops

  1. Identify the start, end and asset or line involved.
  2. Select the reason consistent with the observed event.
  3. Connect the latch to the intervention when required.
  4. Check duration and data before closing registration.

Machine downtime analysis

  1. Select period, line or machine to analyze.
  2. Group by reason, asset or range when available.
  3. Compare duration and frequency of stops.
  4. Learn more about the most impactful cases using orders and history.

Putting this into practice

When a plant returns to operation, check the recorded duration and the connection to the work carried out. A short but frequent stoppage may require different investigation than an isolated event.
