The budget acquires value when it is connected to the scope of the order and the planned work. Summaries and exports help discuss the data, as long as they keep the period and selection criteria clear.
Project orders and budget
- In the project detail, open Job budget management. Check project name, available rows and associated organizational data.
- Open entry or modification of the order and fill in the required fields. Do not confuse the authorized budget with the already planned load.
- Save and re-read the values in the table. If you use an import, first check the format, mandatory fields and recipient project.
- Compare the budget with the workload reports and with the same units of measurement. A correct comparison requires homogeneous period and perimeter.
Export workload and order budget
- Open the view from which the export starts and set the required project, EDU, user or period. Check the filters before downloading.
- Choose the export function consistent with the comparison: project and user, EDU and project, or project and orders, according to the section.
- Open the Excel file and test the headers, perimeter and values on a sample. A successful export does not demonstrate that the chosen filters answer the initial question.
- Compare the data to the screen using the same units and range. Distribute the report only to people authorized for that content.
Putting this into practice
When reviewing a job order, first identify the economic reference and then compare the available summaries. An export must retain the context necessary to interpret the values.
