Folders and tags in AirDoc: find documents without duplicating files

An archive becomes difficult to use when every search requires remembering where a copy was saved. Folders and tags offer two complementary references: location of the document and classification of its contents.

Create a folder

  1. Open the parent folder and press Create new folder.
  2. Enter a clear name. You can add tags and choose a color label.
3. Check the sharing options: inherit from the target or, if available, set the desired explicit accesses. Add users or groups only when necessary.
  4. Press Done. Wait for it to complete and verify that the folder appears in the correct path.

Add consistent tags

  1. When uploading, write a tag in the Add tags field and press Enter or Tab to transform it into a label.
  2. The internal spaces are part of the tag. For example Progetto Alfa is a single label.
  3. Add other tags and remove incorrect ones before uploading. Repeats with only uppercase and lowercase differences are normalized.
  4. Use the same terms agreed upon with the group. Advanced search allows you to use them as criteria.

Putting this into practice

For job documents, define a simple structure and a shared vocabulary of tags. Avoid nearly identical variations that separate content of the same type.
