Content_ID and copy revision: update without losing the reference

A piece of content can change title, text or date while maintaining its editorial identity. Using the Content_ID correctly allows you to follow updates without confusing them with new content.

Update content via Content_ID

  1. Compare the Content_ID of the CSV with the identifier of the content to be updated.
  2. Keep the same identifier for the same exit and assign a different one to a new message.
  3. Select the option to update existing identifiers only when you want to replace that data.
  4. After importing, re-read the text, time and status: don’t rely on the file name to understand which elements have changed.

Change theme and copy

  1. Open the correct content detail by comparing channel and identifier.
  2. Change Theme and Copy while maintaining a message consistent with the audience and the channel format.
  3. Review names, links, call to action and length indicator available in the editor.
  4. Press Save changes and reopen the detail to continue with review and programming.

Putting this into practice

If you correct a post that has already been posted, first check its identifier. After the update, re-read the copy and destination, especially if the content had already entered the approval process.
